COURT PROSECUTE 4 MEN OVER VANDALIZATION, STEALING AND CONSPIRACY OF PROPERTY IN ILORIN.
The Prosecution Counsel, Ayoola Idowu Akande brought to the court, four men who were allegedly conspired to vandalize a parboiling elevator machine and steal various items including; 1,500 metres of 300mm single cord of imported armoured cable, valued at the sum of 54 Million Naira, 20 metres of 150mm single cord of made in Nigeria armoured cable, valued at the sum of 310 Thousand Naira, 100 MPCB circuit breaker, valued at 17 Million Naira and batteries valued at 2.5 Million Naira, with the total sum of Seventy Three Million, Eight Hundred and Ten Thousand Naira (N73,810,000).
These items belonged to Hillcrest Agro-Allied Limited. This offense is punishable under Section 97 of the Penal Code, CAP. P4, Laws of Kwara State.

Maxwell Noah, Uduh Destiny, and Olateju James are specifically accused of stealing the aforementioned items, valued at N73.8 million from the company.
Noah opened up to the vandalization of the circuit break, cables and batteries. He then mentioned Uduh and Olateju as his accomplice and then Sunday as the buyer, He pleaded guilty.
None of the defendant opposed Noah statements and the defendants volunteered statements under caution were presented as evidence. The statements appear to implicate the defendants in the alleged crimes.
The investigation, led by the Nigeria Police, revealed that the defendants are guilty of the crime and police officers testified against the defendants. The witnesses provided detailed accounts of the events leading up to the theft and vandalism, as well as the defendants alleged involvement.
CCTV footage, which was presented to the court and to the Judge, C. N. Kolo ESQ, State Counsel I as evidence, appears to show the defendants at the scene of the crime. The footage also shows the defendants handling stolen electrical cables.
Sunday Adepoju is charged with dishonestly receiving stolen properties, including; 1,500 metres of 300mm single cord of imported armoured cable, valued at the sum of 54 Million Naira, 20 metres of 150mm single cord of made in Nigeria armoured cable, valued at the sum of 310 Thousand Naira, 100 MPCB circuit breaker, valued at 17 Million Naira and batteries valued at 2.5 Million Naira, with the total sum of Seventy Three Million, Eight Hundred and Ten Thousand Naira (N73,810,000).
Police officers, including W/CPL. Ganiyat Ismail, INSPR. Ayodele Azeez, and SGT. Ayokunle Taiwo, testified on the investigation, providing details on the arrest of the defendants and the recovery of stolen items.
The case is ongoing, with the prosecution presenting evidence and witnesses to support the charges against the defendants. The defendants' defense is yet to be presented.
