The community of Boluke, Ilupeju, in Ilorin, Kwara State, is facing numerous challenges, including inadequate infrastructure, a lack of access to clean water, poor waste management, and inadequate electricity supply.

Boluke community are calling on the government to provide support and resources to address these pressing issues.

The community leader, Hon. Kayode Abolude, stated that water scarcity has been exacerbated and that the lack of access to clean water has led residents to rely on contaminated sources, posing serious health risks. The community is also struggling with inadequate waste management; the lack of proper waste disposal facilities has led to the indiscriminate disposal of waste, further exacerbating the community's environmental and health issues.

Alhaji Abdulateef Usman, a resident of Boluke, emphasized that the community needs government support to address the lack of electricity, which has hindered economic development and limited access to essential services. He also appealed for the government to provide a primary health center for the community.

"We urge the government to take immediate action to address our community's infrastructure challenges," said Hon. Kayode Abolude. "We need support to develop sustainable solutions to our water and energy needs, as well as initiatives to promote environmental conservation and proper waste management."

The community's plight highlights the need for a comprehensive approach to addressing infrastructure challenges. By providing support and resources to communities like this one, the government can help promote sustainable development, improve living standards, and ensure a brighter future for all residents of Boluke, Ilupeju.

  13. This is a big community that really needs the dividends of democracy, and I think with the new local government autonomy, if this community still faces this underdevelopment. Then the community should probe their local government chairman and expressed their grievances. Well done to the reporters for supporting this poor community with your project. 👍
